Middle age spread is as real for the solar system as it for earthlings, says a planet expert. And if a proposal from some
leading astronomers gets a nod, our nine-planet realm would boom by 33 percent. Puny Pluto would keep on being a planet, and
some new space objects would get promoted. One shares the nickname of a warrior princess, and the other had been a planet
until a demotion in the 1800s.

THE NAME GAME
Many people
say the sentence (called a mnemonic) "My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets" as a way to remember
the order of the planets.
Starting from the sun the planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,
Neptune and Pluto.
